MATHESON Newark Facility Improvements Project

MATHESON is an industrial products company offering a complete range of gases for welding and metal fabrication – as well as associated equipment, systems, outfits, supplies, safety products, and consumables. For the Facility Improvements Project at their Newark facility, JMA led a multidisciplinary team for the design and permitting of improvements including over ½ acre of new asphalt concrete paving and PCC paving to facilitate the establishment of new vehicle and truck parking, construction of a new 20’x34’ tank pad to support a new 6,000-gallon argon tank and new 15,000-gallon nitrogen tank and associated equipment, and construction of a new 10’x15’ concrete pad to support a new ULSI Helium cryotrap and 3,000-gallon nitrogen mini bulk.

JMA led the geotechnical investigations and survey teams for the site improvements and provided comprehensive site civil design. This included site layout planning for site circulation, fire access and parking layout, and grading and drainage design and erosion control. JMA also prepared a stormwater report and design. Design and construction were completed in 2022.
