Private Industry, Tank & Rail Renewal in Contra Costa, CA

JMA led the concept design of the temporary relocation of two API 650 storage tanks and is currently designing about 4,000 ft of industrial track to re-establish the former rail line on the south side of this private industrial facility to connect the existing Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) tracks. The project required coordination with the CA Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) with a General Order GO 88-B: Modification of an Existing Rail Crossing application due to the addition of tracks underneath an overpass. The new track is designed to be between the existing bridge columns, with applicable pier protections and is currently at 100% design.
