Since 2017, JMA has completed multiple projects for Lawrence Livermore National Lab (LLNL) under a Master Task Agreement and on other Design-Build teams. This projects include: A Roadway and tank improvements project to improve facility access and maintenance. This included erosion control and design of a new retaining wall to extend pavement limits and turnaround area. Supporting construction of a new facility entrance canopy to enhance lighting, weather protection and signage needs, JMA provided civil and structural design services. In 2019, JMA led the design for a parking lot rehabilitation for replacement of 2 parking lots. The pavement was at the end of its functional life, with moderate subgrade failure and damage caused by large tree roots. JMA design new parking lot layouts that considered traffic safety and optimized parking stalls numbers and user experience. JMA designed the drainage under Alameda County stormwater standards and accommodated LLNL’s applicable standards regarding landscaping and lighting improvements. In 2022, JMA led a vehicular and pedestrian bridge, culvert and tunnel inspection project and to evaluate the safety of each structure and maintenance requirements per current standards. To support maintenance roof access at a building at LLNL, JMA provided civil design for the restoration of concrete, pavement and stormwater management for the free-standing stair system installment. JMA also provided cost estimation and bid and construction support services for miscellaneous improvement projects.
