Pacific Ethanol is an industrial producer of specialty alcohols and essential ingredients. To support more efficient liquid fuel transfers to a Kinder Morgan facility and reduce truck operations, Pacific Ethanol proposed to construct a new four rail car unloading station and working tracks within the UPRR right-of-way, which involved the siding track of another neighboring facility to add capacity to store up to eight additional cars. A draft final rail and civil design was prepared by others and submitted to UPRR. After UPRR comments were received, JMA prepared the recommended revisions to the final plans. Utilizing the prior site investigations and designs of others, JMA evaluated and incorporated into the rail and civil design additional grading and drainage considerations, pipe routing and equipment placement and other associated elements. JMA completed design and construction documents in 2018.
